“Monogram Wizard Contest Winner-Brenda Adams Pillow On Back Cover Of Designs In Machine Embroidery Magazine”
by The Embroidery Coach · Filed Under: Apparel Decoration · Embroidery Business Success Stories
Brenda Adams, one of my students, won a “Monogram Wizard” con
test for a pillow that she entered. This pillow is being featured on the back cover of “Designs In Machine Embroidery” magazine. Brenda stated that she learned a lot from my Underlay class and applied those skills to designing and sewing out this pillow.
Brenda also took my “How To Create Monograms” class and was very creative in putting this monogram design together for this pillow. She did a beautiful job and I am so proud of Brenda; this is a huge accomplishment.
The picture on the lower right of the dark gold pillow is Brenda’s. She was in a fabric store shopping and picked up the magazine and saw her pillow on the back and was extremely surprised and excited. I cannot even imagine the feelings that she went through when she saw her picture on the back cover of that magazine.
If it had been me, I am sure that everyone in the store would have know about it at the time, but Brenda is not like me, she is a bit more quiet!
I just wanted to share this with everyone. What a way to start off the New Year! Brenda definitely needs to be congratulated on her accomplishment!
Thank you Brenda for sharing your win with all of us!

Joyce,
Thank you so much for mentioning my winning pillow. I was beyond thrilled! I’m so glad I took your classes on underlay and monograms. I learn something new every class that I take, and manage to put it to good use. The basic training we receive for our software doesn’t begin to teach us all the tricks and techniques that are in your classes.
When I took your monogram class, I figured, how much can there be that I don’t know? It was alot! I especially liked how you showed us to fix letters that had columns that were too wide when made in 10″-12″ sizes. I’ve put those tricks to good use many times since.
I don’t think my monogram would have “popped” off the pillow so much without the right amount of underlay. The basic way the program does lettering, it can look flat and boring. Not after your class!!!!
I have neglected a shopping cart for too long. It was intimidating until I took your class. I put together a new site and shopping cart at artisticleathershop.com just in the few classes we had. It’s a work in progress….I’ve been recommending that class to everyone!
Keep up the good work! I still think there is room in my brain for more learning, although some days i think it’s going to pop!!!!
Thank you for the great words Brenda, I am so proud of you. You have come a long way since I first met you. It is so gratifying seeing the end result. I love what you are doing! Keep up the good work and yes, I will continue to teach. I love what I do and when I know it is making a difference, that is really satisfying!!
