The Embroidery Coach Is Creating A Brand New Embroidery Video Training Site

I am in the process of creating a brand new embroidery video training site.  If you are or have been a student of mine in the past, you are familiar with my current site EmbroideryTipsAndMore.com.

Within a few weeks I will have the brand new site up with more information on it than the old site.  I am very excited about this new site.  It is going to be very clean and easy to find any of the information that you need at the time that you need it.

It is also going to be able to be viewed in Firefox and on  MAC computers as well as Internet Explorer!  This has really been a huge issue in the past because my current site can only be viewed in Internet Explorer!

All of the current students will be grandfathered over into the new system at the current prices.  Anyone that joins our program between now and the new release date will be able to get in at the current price and will be able to stay at that price level.  I have an entirely new membership system and there are going to be more levels of membership in the new system.

I do not have an exact release date at this time, but I will keep you posted.

Learn “How To Market Your Embroidery Business”

January’s Embroidery Webinar Of The Month is going to be entitled “How To Market Your Embroidery Business Even In These Hard Times!”  This webinar will be held on January 27th, 2009 at 8PM EST.

When I first started my embroidery business I thought that all I had to do was put out my sign to let everyone know that I was now in business!  Along with that I placed a couple of adds in the newspaper. I thought that this would let everyone know that I was here and I would have all of the customers that I ever wanted or needed!  Guess What!   It didn’t quite work out that way!

I soon found out that getting customers was not as easy as I had envisioned!  It really took a lot of work to get them coming into the doors!  I really loved what I did and I had no plan or fore thought as to what I would do if the customers did not start to come to my place of business!  Without that steady flow of customers, you have no business!

This is not the right way to get your business started!  I learned very quickly that I needed to have a plan about every aspect of my business and Marketing was no exception.

As a result of having no plan, it took me a little longer to get started!  I have made a ton of mistakes over the past 30 years, but I learned from my mistakes and that makes it easier for me to teach you how to avoid most of the mistakes that I made.

My Webinar this month is on How To Market Your Embroidery Business Even In These Hard Times!”    We are going through some slow economic times right now, but that does not mean it has to be slow for all of us!  It will take a little more effort on our parts to keep those customers, to get new referrals and create a larger customer base, but it can be done!

During out Webinar, I will show you how all of this is possible!  January 27, 2009 at 8PM EST.

Learning How To Market Your Business

This past weekend, I had the the priviledge of participating in a conference on Learning How To Market Your Business.  This conference was called IM Success Workshop and was held in a beautiful Bed and Breakfast setting, The Wayside Inn in Ellicott City, Maryland.  I picked up many good tips, met some fantastic people and had the priviledge of meeting my business coach in person.

My business coach, Bob Jenkins was the Host and presenter of the conference and a wonderful teacher.  I have been working with Bob, The Teacher, for the past several months and have learned a lot from him.  He is very young, but really knows how to teach and how to market a business.

Each month I hold an Embroidery Webinar on a specific topic and in January I am going to be starting a series of Embroidery Webinars on How To Market Your Business and I am very excited that I have some new information to share with my students.  Marketing your Business really is not hard, but you must pay attention to detail and be consistant with your efforts.  I will be teaching the Basics of Marking your Business in January and in February we will be going into some specific methods.

Next Tuesday night, August 26th I will be holding a webinar teaching you all about using Underlay Stitching in your embroidery designs.  Anyone that is into embroidery whether it is an embroiderer with a home business, or a large commerical business should attend this webinar.

Creating A Business Plan Is The First Step Of Starting Your Embroidery Business

Starting a new Embroidery Business is exciting and a little overwhelming at the same time! There is so much to do, so much to learn and so many areas to prepare for before you can even open the doors for business! The very first step in planning for your new embroidery business is creating a Business Plan!

It is the essential first step on your road to growth and success. The main purpose of writing a business plan is to give you a clear direction and guidance of how you intend to run your embroidery business and plan for future growth. With this plan you will be able to analyze and measure each step along the way to ensure that you are truly on the right path.

Writing a business plan is not as tough as it seems, the hardest part is getting started and knowing where to start. Many business plans look great on paper, but make sure as you are writing your business plan, that it will work for you in the real world! Creating a formal business plan takes may hours of work, but the end result is very rewarding and a real eye opener.

With the proper projections you can foresee trouble spots and pro-act instead of reacting to obstacles that may be put in your path. It can be a simple 5-10 page plan that will work for most small to medium sized embroidery businesses or as complex as your want it to be. This all depends on your situation. Just make sure that it is real!!

If you plan on obtaining any type of financing you will be required to have a business plan. If your embroidery business is going to require financing through a financial institution or investors, then you will be required to furnish additional information. The basic elements of the business plan are as follow:

Table of Contents

  • Executive Summary
  • Business Development
  • Marketing Plan
  • Organizational Plan
  • Financial Plan

Next I will talk about how to get started and begin going over each of the elements within the plan. Thank you for taking the time to read this post and leave a comment to let me know if this has been helpful to you..
